Notes From the Superintendent: Change in Schedule
Good afternoon Panther Families,
I'm making a quick announcement to our students and families about a couple of significant schedule changes that will impact our school district this week and early next week. I want to apologize in advance for yet another schedule change as I know these changes can impact families in ways we cannot always envision (and we have already had plenty of adjusted schedules this second semester). That being said, sometimes these changes cannot be anticipated, and I sincerely thank you for your flexibility and support with these adjustments.
First of all, due to the projected blizzard conditions and the current severe weather forecast for tomorrow, we will be canceling school on Wednesday, March 19th. The weather is currently projected to be a bit better later in the week and right now, we are looking at resuming classes as normal on Thursday, March 20th. Stay tuned as this could change if the forecast changes, but that is the plan for now.
An additional schedule change involves the ACT testing for our high school sophomores and juniors. The original ACT date was scheduled for Tuesday, March 25th, but due to ACT logistics and changes in test planning, the ACT for juniors and the Pre-ACT for sophomores will now take place on Tuesday, April 8th. What this means is that Tuesday, March 25th will now be a full day of school for all students. Tuesday, April 8th will still be a full day of school for all elementary students, but students in grades 6,7,8,9, and 12 will not have school on that day. All sophomores and juniors will have school that day, as sophomores (10th grade) will be taking the Pre-ACT test, and juniors (11th grade) will be taking the ACT test.
Thank you again for your continued flexibility and support as we continue to adjust to these often unforeseen circumstances in scheduling.
Have a good rest of your night and a safe Wednesday,
Mike
Go Panthers!
