Class of 1999: David Roger Znamenacek

David Roger Znamenacek, 42, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away in Bennet on July 8, 2024 after a courageous battle with Cancer.

 

David graduated from Palmyra High School in 1999 at the age of 17 and attended Southeast Community College Milford where he graduated college at the age of 18 and moved to Colorado for work in the IT field. He eventually left his job to play cards professionally in Las Vegas and always lived life to the fullest and on his terms! He eventually moved closer to home as family was always his priority. To know David was to love him. He had no enemies and was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to meet him. He was a true Cubs fan even when they were at their worst. He loved to travel was a true mamma’s boy!

 

David is survived by his Mother, Janice Znamenacek of Bennet. Sisters, Sarah (Ali) Alhachami of Bennet, Amy (Jason) Boyer of Bellevue. Brothers, Andy (Wendy) Znamenacek of Grand Island, Allen (Susan) Znamenacek of Arizona.  Nieces and Nephews, Mariam, Zak, Haider, and Mason Alhachami of Bennet, Molly Sorensen, Annah, Lani and Logan Boyer, Kaeliana and Karlos Robles of Bellevue, Casey, Lillian, Nick, and Ava Znamenacek of Ohio, Elyse Lyons and Carter Rawson of Lincoln, Allison Znamenacek of Arizona, Grace Znamenacek of Omaha, Gavin and Caleb Znamenacek of Arizona, Jaden (Kore) and Azalea Znamenacek of Grand Island. His beloved cats, Gather and Phoebe. Cousin and best-friend Clark (Jen) Dawson of Lincoln, and numerous friends and his card playing community.

 

David is preceeded in death by: His Father, Roger Znamenacek, Grandparents, Elmer and Bonnie Bargman and George and Evelyn Znamenacek, Nephew, Josef Alhachami, Niece, Maggie Boyer. Numerous beloved Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

 

Graveside Services will be held at Centerville Cemetery, 1800  West Roca Road, Martell on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. officiated by family friend and Pastor Darin Corder.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:30am at the Bennet Community Church, 350 Monroe Street, Bennet.  The Celebration of Life will be live streamed at http://www.facebook.com/bennetcommunitychurch.

David’s family would like to thank the dedicated and compassionate staff at Horisun Hospice, Pastor Darin Corder, dedicated family and friends who have been there to support us as well as Dr. Avery and his staff at Nebraska Hematology and Oncology for their support, care  and love of Dave.
