The Foundation for Knowledge, District OR-1 has been committed to supporting the Bennet-Palmyra graduates and granting scholarships to its high school graduates to continue their education after high school. 

To be considered for a scholarship, you must complete the application in its entirety, and be sure to review the required documents listed. You will need to complete the application in one sitting. If you are having difficulty uploading your documents, please email foundation@districtor1.net

  3. Copy of ACT/SAT scores
  4. 2024-2025 Attendance Report
  5. College/University/Trade School Acceptance Letter(s)
  6. Resume
  7. Personal Statement
  8. Three Letters of Recommendation (non-relatives)

The Foundation for Knowledge, District OR-1 2024-2025 Scholarships. Some scholarships have specific criteria, as noted below.

  • John & Laura Beecham Scholarship
  • Deb Rood Memorial Scholarship
  • Randy Vollertsen Scholarship
  • Reed/Penterman Scholarship
  • Tim Jensen Scholarship
  • Dale Cheney Family Scholarship
  • Leland Olson Scholarship
  • Class Scholarship
  • Teacher's Association Scholarship
  • Alumni Scholarship: related to an alumnus of PHS (i.e. sibling, parent, grandparent, etc.)
  • Gera Stillwell Scholarship: Plans to study elementary education or education
  • Kimmel Foundation Scholarship: 3.0 GPA; attending a state or community college in Nebraska
  • Alexis Calfee Scholarship: 2.5 GPA; Involved in two sports; active in at least two or more school organizations; an essay of 300 words on 1) How can you prevent drunk driving 2) What does good character mean to you 3) How do you define leadership and how will you utilize leadership skills in college
  • Cedar Lane Farm Scholarship: Studying agriculture or majoring in a technical trade; lived in the community for a minimum of 4 years; participating in extracurricular in activities
  • Learn to Dream Scholarship: qualify for free-reduced lunch, an additional application is required please visit with your high school counselor to obtain the additional application
