Superintendent Note: Student Pick-up
Good afternoon Panther Families:
This is Michael Hart, Superintendent with District OR-1 Public Schools, with an important message for families at Bennet Elementary School. Earlier this afternoon, there was a structure fire at a residence near the elementary school in the alley between Madison and Jefferson Streets. Out of an abundance of caution, all students at the elementary school were brought inside, and the building went into “secure mode” to ensure student safety.
At this time, the fire is under control by Bennet Fire and Rescue, but school traffic will be rerouted to Birch, traveling west to Jefferson, and then south to Cottonwood and Dogwood.
School will dismiss at the regular time; however, we appreciate your patience in advance for any potential delays.
As always, school safety is our top priority.
