First Grade Fiesta!
First grade ended the year with a Fiesta! Earlier in the year, we read a story called Mama's Birthday Present. In the story a little boy named Francisco plans a surprise party for his Mama for a whole week. With the help of family and friends, who all contribute a little something to the celebration, Francisco pulls off a wonderful surprise for his Mama. We decided to end our year with a fiesta to celebrate all our hard work! The kids each had a turn trying to break open a pinata that the high school Spanish students carefully crafted. Then they all had mucho fun cracking cascarones (confetti filled eggs) over their heads. It was a fun-filled, colorful fiesta! What a wonderful way to end our year together!
